Our collaboration with Vodafone began in 2016 when Vodafone adopted the KBS Electronic Voucher Distribution (EVD) System to streamline eVoucher processing. Initially, Vodafone deployed 400 POS machines running on Linux OS, marking the beginning of a significant technological transformation.
By 2017, Vodafone expanded its operations by integrating our new Android-based POS terminals, increasing the total number of machines to 2,300. During this period, the EVD System also introduced two additional services: eTop-up and bill payment, allowing Vodafone to manage all services through both legacy and new POS machines.
In late 2018, the system was further enhanced with the addition of international eTop-up services, and another 1,000 POS machines were deployed. We also developed a mobile app, enabling the latest EVD System to operate on Android tablets and mobile devices, further extending its accessibility.
The year 2019 saw the introduction of the ‘Commission on the Fly’ feature, designed to boost sales and offer flexible commission rates. New services, including Notification Management and Reporting, were added to the EVD System, enhancing its functionality and reporting capabilities.
A major milestone was achieved in 2020 with the successful migration of the EVD System from the KBS network to Vodafone’s infrastructure, accompanied by the deployment of approximately 2,800 new POS machines. This transition streamlined operations and expanded service capabilities.

In 2021, we introduced a new service linking merchants with RSO, simplifying transactions like balance checks and transfers. The total number of POS machines and mobile devices connected to the Vodafone EVD System reached 5,000. Additionally, Vodafone launched 5 Self Service Machines (SSMs) in October, which were later increased to 100, featuring an interface translated into 10 languages for broader accessibility.
The ‘I Pay Cash-In’ service was added to all Vodafone SSMs in 2022, enabling account top-ups. Mid-year, KBS introduced new Android POS devices, bringing the total to 4,500 machines by year-end. The new ‘Bill Payment’ service and ‘Pay by QR code’ functionality were also implemented, enhancing payment flexibility.
During the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the EVD System was upgraded with FIFA-specific services, including FIFA eVoucher and FIFA Top-up, catering to fans’ needs across mobile devices, POS terminals, and SSMs.
In 2023, we launched a new application for Vodafone, allowing customers to purchase SIM cards via tablets, mobiles, or POS machines. Today, the Vodafone EVD Solution encompasses over 11,000 POS machines, replacing the traditional scratch card distribution and providing comprehensive market coverage.
